For records of the year 2008 / 2009 (1387) click here 15th March 2009 / 25th Hoot 1387 In a meeting with the Massoud Foundation today a consensus was reached which consolidated the friendly co-existence of the Library Association and the Massoud Foundation. In the compromise reached it was agreed that the Association remove “Culture Centre” out of their name and only be concerned with the building and running of a library in the name of Ahmad Shah Massoud. Subsequently the Association would be independent from the Foundation but would seek their friendly cooperation as and when desired. In a subsequent meeting of the Steering Committee of the Library Association on 17th March / 27th Hoot, it was decided to Register the Association under the name of “Ahmad Shah Massoud Library Association” Call the institution itself “Ahmad Shah Massoud Library” The corresponding changes to the website and registration papers will be made in due course. August 2009 The Ahmad Shah Massoud Library Association has finally been granted its official registration by the Ministry of Justice - one year after its inception. October 2009 Due to delays caused by the Presidential campaign and the involvement of some of our members in the Abdullah campaign progress has been further delayed. Now that this phase is coming to an end considerations regarding the further fundraising process were made in a meeting on 8th October and will be continued as soon as possible.
