Ahmad Shah Massoud was more than a brilliant military leader and strategist. While his achievements on the battle field have defined his life and catapulted him to the level of recognition and respect he still enjoys today, those who knew him well will attest any time that there was much more to him - there was the "man behind the legend".

It is the aim of this initiative to preserve and promote all aspects of Ahmad Shah Massoud - his military legacy but also his social and political vision and last but not least his personal life, talents and dreams.

 

From this results our vision for the Ahmad Shah Massoud Public Library:

 

 

Be a state of the art institution of reading, learning and cultural exchange

 

Represent and promote Ahmad Shah Massoud’s values and philosophy in the Centre’s activities for the benefit of all Afghans

 

Preserve and disseminate the legacy and memory of Ahmad Shah Massoud
